Deer GuardTM
"We have been using DEER GUARD on our Balsam Fir, Fraser Fir and Exotic Fir seed orchard for the last three years with very good success. Prior to using DEER GUARD, we were being eaten alive by deer and suffered a lot of damage and even a lot of losses due to browsing the grafted seed orchard trees. Now browse damage in the seed orchard is essentially zero. We apply it in the fall, and it lasts into the spring"

Bill, Greenhouse, Cohasset, MN

"DEER GUARD substantially reduced the number of deer in our plantations and almost ended tree damage. We plan to use the product in the next growth season"

George, Fenn Farms, Elkton, OR

“Your product works great! We didn’t get any damage to our trees last year!”

Sue, Winona, MN

"Years ago I tried hanging soap. This not only didn't work, the deer ate the soap. This prompted me to try your product which I renamed my liquid gold."

Laura, Chapel Hill, NC

“…our Geranium savior. It has not broken down once, even after seven to eight rains."

Dubi and Carmen, Orcas Island, WA

"Poplars 100% unbrowsed, one rose bush was browsed once then left alone, nine others untouched. An excellent product. I highly recommend (it) for mitigation of browse concerns on trees and flowers"

Bruce, US Forest Service, Walla Walla, WA

"The only product that works."
Chuck, Grand Rapids, MI

"Recently, about 60 MDHA adult and Forkhorn (youth) members from the Hibbing/Chisholm Chapter planted a bunch of soft mast and cedar seedlings on MDHA's property. After the planting, I sprayed Deer Guard to the cedar seedlings as insurance against deer browsing on the sweet little nursery stock. Unfortunately, in the spraying process I became careless and allowed the wind to blow the vapor back into my face. It is claimed that Deer Guard, unlike other deer repellants, is not made from coyote urine or blood or similar repulsive components. Instead, Deer Guard's claim to fame is that it contains the most bitter stuff known to man and has a slight garlic-type smell. Well, I can tell you that the smell is subtle, so much so that I thought it was nearly insignificant to my nose. But, I can also tell you that the claimed bitter taste is understated. My first taste was when I unthinkingly licked my lips and discovered a very subtle, slightly tangy, unpleasant taste. Being stupid, I licked my lips again, this time making sure to swab my tongue across my entire lips. That was not smart. The subtle tangy bitterness caused in almost involuntary spitting in my attempt to clear my mouth of the nasty taste. Shortly thereafter I washed my face to rid the problem. But here is where another attribute of Deer Guard championed itself. You see, Deer Guard is made with a latex carrier so it doesn't wash off easily. Amazingly, a couple of hours later I managed to taste a small indication of Deer Guard, and like a dummy I made another big lick. This time I got an even bigger sampling, causing the scent and taste of Deer Guard to forever be etched in my mind as I undertook a severe mouth rinsing and nearly scrubbed the flesh off of my face. I have no hesitation saying that I pity any deer that gets a mouthful!"
Mark Wm. Johnson , Executive Director, MDHA
